The problem question

Are the costs for the introduction of Tourbosoft justified?

We at JACOB CEMENT BAUSTOFFE were faced with the challenge of optimizing our route planning and reducing rising fleet costs. We recognized the urgent need for modern logistics software to make our building materials wholesale business more competitive.

Of course, we were aware that a high-quality software solution has its price. However, the initial supposedly high investment and the running costs associated with the introduction of Tourbosoft led to concerns about the return on investment (ROI) and economic viability.

The decision to invest in the Tourbosoft software solution should be carefully considered and well-founded.

We carried out a thorough needs analysis, taking into account the requirements of the building materials wholesale trade, in order to identify the added value of a software solution. Various software providers on the market and their solutions were then carefully compared.

A detailed cost-benefit analysis was carried out to assess the expected return on investment. Savings, efficiency gains and long-term competitiveness were taken into account.

We held intensive internal discussions to listen to and discuss concerns. Risks and challenges were openly discussed and weighed up. We also visited other builders' merchants to see Tourbosoft in action, which strengthened our confidence in the software solution.

It became clear that the long-term benefits would justify the initial investment and ongoing costs. So JACOB CEMENT decided to implement Tourbosoft's route planning software at its first site in Flensburg.

We achieved considerable cost savings that significantly exceeded the return on investment. The software amortized even faster than expected. In addition to tour planning, we have successfully introduced many other Tourbosoft modules at all our locations.

It became clear that our initial concerns about the costs were unfounded and the decision to invest in the logistics software proved to be a strategically correct and significant step for the growth and long-term success of JACOB CEMENT. Tourbosoft has significantly advanced our logistics.
